At-Large Place 6 Update

LISD Community,

I want to reach out to you with another important update regarding the At-Large Place 6 Trustee Vacancy on our Board. As you may recall on July 15, 2025, Dr. Buddy Bonner submitted his resignation from the Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees.

Dr. Bonner held At-Large Place 6 with a term running from May 2024 to May 2027. As Dr. Bonner’s term had more than 1 year remaining at the time of his resignation, the Board must take steps to fill his position by appointment or special election within 180 days. The LISD Board of Trustees will consider on August 25, 2025, whether to call for a special election to fill Dr. Bonner’s seat for the remainder of his term, through May of 2027. The special election would be held on November 4, 2025 with the General Election and interested candidates would have until September 3^rd at 5:00 p.m. to file their application. If the Board calls for a special election, the District will release additional details on Tuesday, August 26^th regarding the applicable dates in the election process.
