LISD Adopted Tax Rate for 2025-2026 School Year

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 10.69 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $40.00

The 2025-26 tax rate includes a $0.0400 decrease in the Interest & Sinking (I&S) tax rate, as well as a $0.0400 increase in the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) tax rate. The increase in the M&O tax rate is the result of the adoption of four disaster pennies that are effective for one year to help cover district costs relating to the severe storm disaster declared for Denton County in May 2024.  Even with no overall change to the total tax rate, there will be a savings to the average LISD homeowner of nearly $140 a year, because of pending increases to the homestead exemption.
