LISD Shares Program Relocation Proposal
At the Dec. 1 Board Work Session, Lewisville ISD leaders presented a proposal to the Board of Trustees outlining plans to utilize existing campuses and facilities to house other district programs. The proposal is part of LISD’s ongoing efforts to review operations in anticipation of projected enrollment declines, as more students graduate each year than enter kindergarten.
Earlier this school year, LISD shared updates with the community regarding the district’s plans for surplus property. By rethinking how space is utilized across the district, the Board was able to declare two additional properties as surplus: the Lewisville Learning Center and the Student Success Center. These surplus properties may be sold or leased to generate additional revenue as the district adjusts to a declining enrollment-driven budget.
As potential program locations are evaluated, LISD is taking into account the geographic impact on students and families. Centralizing programs too far from certain feeder patterns can create accessibility challenges, especially along major traffic corridors like Business 121 or for programs with limited transportation options.
Any program relocated to an existing campus will operate independently from the campus’s current operations. Students in relocated programs will remain separate from the campus’s existing student body, maintaining dedicated spaces and operations. LISD’s facility and construction teams will provide support to ensure proper physical separation between programs.
The following programs, previously housed at the Lewisville Learning Center (LLC) or the Student Success Center (SSC), will be relocated. The earliest these changes could take effect is the 2026-27 school year.
