LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp Named State Finalist for Superintendent of the Year

LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp Named State Finalist for Superintendent of the Year

Lewisville ISD is thrilled to share that Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp has been named one of only five state finalists for the 2025 Superintendent of the Year award by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).

Established in 1984, the SOTY program recognizes exemplary school leaders across Texas who have demonstrated visionary leadership, a strong commitment to students, and outstanding service to their districts and communities.

The TASB selection committee highlighted Dr. Rapp’s unwavering commitment to public education, her strengths as a communicator, and her dedication to fostering a strong, student-centered district culture.

Dr. Rapp has spent her entire career in Lewisville ISD, beginning as a secondary math teacher in 1996 before becoming the district’s superintendent in 2022. Today, she leads a district of more than 47,000 students across 64 campuses, always keeping students at the heart of every decision.

“This recognition highlights what we already know to be true: Dr. Rapp’s extraordinary leadership, dedication to students, and commitment to building a strong district culture make a meaningful difference every day,” LISD Board President Jenny Proznik said. “Her vision, integrity, and tireless work on behalf of our students, staff, and families inspire everyone in our district, and we are so proud to see her honored among the very best educational leaders in Texas. We are beyond proud to call her ours.”

The 2025 Superintendent of the Year will be announced Sept. 12 at txEDCON in Houston. Joining Dr. Rapp as state finalists are Roosevelt Nivens of Lamar CISD, Colin Howeth of Knox City-O’Brien CISD, Eddie Hesseltine of Orange Grove ISD, and Kurt Ashmore of Wellington ISD.

Regardless of the outcome, LISD celebrates Dr. Rapp’s outstanding leadership and the positive difference she continues to make in the lives of students and families across the district.
