Several LISD Properties Designated Surplus

Several LISD Properties Designated Surplus

At its regularly scheduled meeting on Aug. 11, the Lewisville ISD (LISD) Board of Trustees approved the designation of several district-owned properties as surplus. This action allows the district flexibility to explore options to sell, lease, or develop these properties in ways that best support students and the broader community.

Properties designated as surplus include:

  • B.B. Owen Elementary
  • Creekside Elementary
  • Garden Ridge Elementary
  • Polser Elementary
  • Lewisville Learning Center
  • Student Success Center

A key part of this plan includes utilizing campuses identified to be operating below capacity during the Community Efficiency Committee process to house other district programs. The Highland Village Elementary School campus will also continue to be district owned and will be repurposed for other LISD programs which allows us to determine two additional LISD properties as surplus. As a result of this, the district can consolidate operations and has been able to identify two additional properties for surplus.

“We know changes like this take thoughtful planning,” Dr. Lori Rapp said in a message to families. “We’re committed to working hand-in-hand with our staff, families, and community partners throughout the process.”

The Board will determine by December which programs will be placed at the Highland Village location and other below capacity facilities in the district.
