Important Immunization Reminder for Incoming 7th Grade Families & Students Needing Immunization Updates

Note from Nurse Robbs:

All students entering 7th grade in Texas are required to have the following immunizations on file before they can begin school:
 

• Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) booster
• Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine
   

These immunizations are required by the State of Texas, and students will not be permitted to attend school until documentation of these vaccines has been received and verified.
 

If your student has already received these immunizations, they may already be compliant—I simply may not have received the updated record yet. Please email a copy of your student’s current immunization record to robbse@lisd.net so I can update their file.
 

If your student has not yet received the required Tdap booster and meningococcal vaccine, please schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider immediately to ensure they are able to begin school on time.
 

Additionally, if your child is currently on a catch-up immunization schedule or has received notice that other required immunizations are overdue, please ensure all required immunizations are brought up to date before the first day of school. Students who are not in compliance with Texas immunization requirements will not be permitted to attend school until the required documentation has been received.
 

Submitting your student’s immunization record as soon as possible will help ensure a smooth start to the school year and prevent any delay in your child’s attendance.
